I was looking into the pogoplug API to create a windows phone app, its so easy. I think if the pogoplug team works on this they can come up with a decent V1 app in a week and they can iterate on it afterwards.

If pogoplug has no idea of a WP app, atleast make your website mobile friendly.

All good points! I honestly don't understand why the pogoplug dev team can't get to work on this. I use pogoplug's cloud storage service daily and being able to have it on my Windows Phone would make things so much easier for me.

It seems so that Pogoplug doesn't have the balls to make WP client. They are afraid that Apple and/or Google gets pissed. Tell me if I'm wrong.

I guess we'll have to start use only SkyDrive then.

I was working on my own pogoplug client for WP8  using the public API. the app is published to the market place now  http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/pogoplug/61eef542-cefb-4cf3-8154-b3ecfddc7cfd

at present you can browse files, view images and videos. Let me know the features and updates you would like to see and I'll try to add them if possible through the public API.

I hope pogoplug releases an official app soon.

I get offers to upgrade to unlimited cloud. I still can not find a way to use it mobile as I am a Windows Phone user. Please tell me that a WP app is available in the near future

I'm a "Windows guy" and not an Apple fanboy.  But, when I bought my tablet, I got an iPad, because Apple did it right and there is a gigantic ecosystem of apps that surround it.  If I bought a smart phone, I would get either an iPhone or Android phone, and not a Windows phone for same reasons.  Miscrosoft's Windows phone is the least adopted smartphone, and so there are relatively few apps developed (and being developed) for it.  The name of the game is APPS -- apps that can make your mobile device do back flips!   At this point in the race of mobile devices, I want one with good apps, and not non-existant apps.

Microsoft has been loosing the race in mobile devices (starting with iPod) for years to Apple, and I do not want to be victimized by their lack of ability to compete in this arena.

Not written to ding the folks who have a Windows phone, but to give a "heads up" to those contemplating getting one.

Hi:

Pogoplug, can you answer us? please.

Oh, Rony, are you working on an update? Could be GREAT to view pdf, docs...etc, and also make those files available offline, downloading to the "cache" for viewing without connection.

Thanks

I have the new Nokia 928 running Windows Phone 8and need the pogoplug app too. I'm currently using Skydrive and with the great price on Pogo Cloud, I'd really like to switch.

sorry DJ HazMat... Pogoplug doesn't seem to care about their customers. The lack of an offical Pogoplug app for Windows Phone 8 is proof of that.

I've made the swtich from pogoplug to skydrive and have been very pleased with my decision. May consider switching back to PP if I see a WP8 app becomes available.

Thanks @Rony for the App, however it would definitely be useful to have an actual Pogoplug supported app for WP8! Please work on this, it's the missing link!

I got my pogoplug to work for my windows phone but the movies are not playing .  please figure this out and come out with a solution.  Documents do work no problem

They likely will not stream until you have a dedicated app like ones for iOS and Android devices.  Movies will not stream for other reasons, too.  For example, low bandwidth, and shared links do not stream unless a movie is very short or small file.  The only time a movie will stream is to the device of the account owner.

Interesting factoid to those thinking of buying a Windows Phone:  I know someone fairly high up at Microsoft who told me Microsoft wanted their employees to have Windows phones, and most did not want one -- they preferred to keep their iPhones and and Android phones!

Pogoplug support,

any news or updates on this? Why hasn't an official app for pogoplug been created for the Windows Phone 8 platform? As you can clearly see, there is a demand for it.

Less than 1% of a user base will be vocal about a need.  I am very familiar with this ratio as a software developer of many years.  If this many people are asking for a Windows 8 app, it is in PogoPlug's best interest to oblige.
